125.cc is a collective with independent contractors widely located in Europe. We are specialized in publishing and presenting content on Internet and developing various of tools for online applications.

It all began in Sweden 1997, when I (Matias Vangsnes) understood that I could make a little extra money from things I created with my computer. Thereafter I started to work with companies which were curious and willing to risk some capital to get their business or just something online.

Back then it was really about compatibility, to be able to span between platforms and get it to work for the majority was the priority. Now it's hard to understand the amount of hard effort that was needed to deliver something which today we take for granted. In this case; things where NOT always better in the old days.

In the late 90's, the interest for information technology increased and every company with self-respect felt that Internet is the way to go. During this period I hade some of my most crazy assignments, it was good money, over-valued and we all know how IT ended.

To minimize the risk but also be flexible it felt natural to shape 125.cc into a collective. I collected my friends (which I already worked with), and informed them about my idea and started to take assignments. And soon I discovered that as a collective we covered a wider field than before, the ability to run things alone made us confident enough to take a bigger piece of the cake.

Independency is the key word for 125.cc, when all the collective members work from distance.

The pedagogic point of view is important; look and feel is prioritized more than solving technical solutions, instead we use whatever technical tools needed to accomplish our assignments, it's a matter of approaching the technical part.
